Socializing over a drink is one of the things we Brooklynites do best. And sometimes, socializing with your pup is the way to go. Humans, dogs, all good in Brooklyn.
Here are four terrific watering holes that go out of their way to make pup feel as welcome as you. Don't be surprised if the belly up to the bar next to yours has fur.
Lucky Dog 303 Bedford Ave, 11211 is a dive bar serving a rotating craft beer stock. Located in Williamsburg this bar has a private backyard with plenty of tables, but your pooch is welcomed inside as well. It is not uncommon to see a dog sitting at a bar stool checking out the entertainment or bobbing his head to a catchy tune on the jukebox.
Along with their beers, they offer free shuffle board. We're waiting for a canine winner!
Forrest Point 970 Flushing Ave 11206 is in East Williamsburg/Bushwick. Forrest Point is a trendy joint that serves inventive craft cocktails, milk punches, a variety of beer, and wine. There is indoor and outdoor seating and well-behaved pups are allowed at the outdoor tables.
Bar Great Harry Corner of Smith and Sackett Streets in Carroll Gardens. This beer bar has a relaxed atmosphere, pinball machines, and a large selection of reasonably priced beer on tap, in bottles, and in cans. They featureTransmitter and Finback beers.
Do you want to host a party? Bar Great Harry will give you their back room which holds 15-20 people at N/C (no charge!). You can even bring your own food as long as you buy your beer from them. Sounds fair. Especially since....
Dogs are welcomed.
The Owl Farm 297 9th Street in South Park Slope/Gowanus welcomes well-behaved, leashed dogs with their hipster owners. Libations consist of 28 rapidly rotating draft lines, bottled cider, distilled beer and cider based spirits. They even have a bottled alcoholic root beer.
